I started training with Des in February of this year, the first thing that attracted me to Des was his cool, calm and kind nature and his other athletes were so welcoming and I knew instantly that I wanted to be a part of his team.
My first race under Des was Cairns 70.3. His first task was to ‘accommodate’ my lifestyle. I’m a mum to 2 young kids, a husband in the defence force who is away for months at a time, I have no family support to rely on, and I’m a part time nurse. Des took all this into consideration and came up with a plan that suited my needs, whilst getting the best possible outcome for me as an athlete. I took a whooping 32mins off my previous 70.3 event, I went into the race injury free, comfortable and I knew I had done all the work i needed to do to have the best possible race. I really did have the best race ever, it was fast, event free, but most of all, it was FUN!
I have already recommended Des to many of my friends and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone else. I’m proud to fly the DGC flag and love being part of Des’ crew.
